Global Organizations

There are three major global healthcare simulation organizations: SSH, INACSL, and SimGHOSTS. The SSH is more inclusive than the other two covering any healthcare professions and any topics. The INACSL is focused on clinical nursing simulation for learning and research purposes. The SimGHOSTS aims to support Simulation Technicians’ networking and professional development activities. Even though all of these organizations require memberships for full access of their amazing benefits, there is still a number of free resources available.

SSH seeks to improve performance and reduce errors in patient care through the use of simulation.  Established in 2004 by professionals using simulation for education, testing, and research in health care, SSH membership includes physicians, nurses, allied health and paramedical personnel, researchers, educators and developers from around the globe.

With over 2,500 members worldwide, International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) is an organization advancing the science of healthcare simulation. In April of 2002, the organization was named the INACSL and on January 3, 2003, INACSL was incorporated in the state of Texas.

The Gathering of Technicians, or GOT SIM, was founded in 2011 by Lance Baily. Lance “found his calling” with healthcare simulation where he combined his love of computer technology, programming, audiovideo production, experiential learning and Fire/EMS healthcare training.
